FAQ
Q: What makes SILAZANE50 different from other similar products?
A: SILAZANE50 is made with Polysilazane—a next-generation material known for its exceptional durability, deep gloss, and ultra water repellency. While most brands avoid Polysilazane due to its difficulty in handling, we’ve developed and patented a sprayable formula that makes application simple without compromising performance. Manufactured entirely in Japan, SILAZANE50 delivers professional-grade results without the need for masking or specialized tools.
Q: Is Nihon Coating Asia-Pacific a distributor of Nihon Coating Co., Ltd.?
A: No. Nihon Coating Asia-Pacific is not a third-party distributor but a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Coating Co., Ltd., headquartered in Japan. It was established to oversee operations, sales, and customer service across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring consistent quality and brand integrity outside Japan.
Q: Will orders be shipped from Japan?
A: No. All orders placed through our Asia-Pacific platform are shipped from our warehouse in Singapore for faster delivery and better regional support.
Q: Is SILAZANE50 manufactured in Japan?
A: Yes. SILAZANE50 is fully developed and manufactured in our own facility in Japan. Because Polysilazane is difficult to work with, we maintain in-house production to ensure consistent quality, prioritizing performance over cost.
Q: How long after coating is it safe for the car to get wet from water or rain?
A: The coated surface can be exposed to rain after 30 minutes. The coating will continue to cure naturally for about a week. We recommend not washing your car for at least 7 days after application to ensure optimal results.
Note: SILAZANE50 cures by reacting with moisture in the air. Curing time may vary depending on temperature and humidity.
Q: Can I apply a second coat?
A: Yes. A second coat will enhance the gloss and depth, but requires an additional set. Apply before dirt or dust accumulates on the surface.
Q: Do I need to wash the car after using the degreaser?
A: No, washing is not necessary after using the degreaser. You can proceed directly to the coating application.
Q: Can it be used on mufflers?
A: Yes. SILAZANE50 is heat-resistant and can be applied to mufflers.
Q: Can it be used on rims?
A: Yes, SILAZANE50 can be applied to rims and wheels.
Q: Is buff polishing necessary?
A: No. Buffing is optional. While it may help reduce the appearance of fine scratches, it does not affect coating performance. For visibly scratched surfaces, polishing beforehand is recommended for best results.
Q: Can I store opened solvents?
A: No. Once opened, the solvents react with moisture and begin curing. Unopened, they can be stored in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year.
Q: Can I use only half of Liquid A and B?
A: No. Using partial amounts may disrupt the intended mixture ratio, affecting performance. Always use the full contents in one application.
Q: Can I apply the coating without a roof or shelter?
A: Yes, but avoid applying under direct sunlight or during peak heat. Morning or evening application is recommended.
Q: Can I use quick coatings or water-repellent shampoos?
A: No. Applying other coatings or water-repellent shampoos on top of SILAZANE50 may diminish its performance. For maintenance, use only recommended or compatible products.
Q: Can I store unused product long-term?
A: Yes. If unopened, Liquids A, B, and the hardener can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one year.
Important: Once opened, curing begins immediately—store only when completely sealed.
Q: What if there are water spots or ion deposits before application?
A: The coating will seal over any existing deposits. We recommend removing all water spots and ion buildup before coating for a clean, smooth finish.
Q: Can I apply SILAZANE50 over an existing glass coating?
A: Yes. If previously coated by a dealer or similar service, SILAZANE50 can be layered over it.
Surface prep required:
•Use ion deposit cleaner (water spot remover)
•Wash the car
•Degrease thoroughly
Q: Can I apply it over a quick coating?
A: Yes, but first remove any existing non-glass coating with the included shampoo, then degrease thoroughly before application.
Q: When can I wash the car after application?
A:•Water rinse: After 24 hours if dirty
•Hand wash with shampoo: After 1 week
•Automatic car wash: After 1 month
•Do not use shampoos with water-repellent or coating ingredients.
Q: Is SILAZANE50 Diamond Plus+ different from the SILAZANE50 Base Kit?
A: Yes, SILAZANE50 Diamond Plus+ features an enhanced version of the original SILAZANE50 formula, specifically engineered to deliver an even deeper, more lustrous gloss that outshines conventional ceramic coatings. Additionally, Diamond Plus+ includes a three-layer application system, compared to the two-layer system in the Base Kit—offering superior depth, durability, and finish.
Q: Do parts other than the car body need to be masked before applying SILAZANE50?
A: No masking is required. SILAZANE50 can be safely applied to windows, headlights, carbon fiber, resin components, rims, and chrome surfaces. However, avoid applying the coating to rubber parts. While the windshield can be coated for superior water repellency, please note that wipers may vibrate slightly during use
